Cortylandia 2017

Christmas has arrived. A highly-anticipated season that gives the streets of the beautiful city of Madrid a one of a kind atmosphere, filled with magic and excitement. Both kids and adults can enjoy the vibrant and elegant Spanish metropolis during such a special time, with an endless number of plans and activities for everyone.

One of the city’s most popular events around this time of year is Cortylandia, the animated Christmas decorations put up each year on the façade of the Preciados El Corte Inglés store in the center of Madrid, specifically at the calle Maestro Victoria entrance.

Every year Cortylandia has a different theme, always related to the world of children and it includes stories, magic, fantastical beings and all sorts of animated elements that delight the little ones with tales and songs. The display lasts about 15 minutes and follows a set schedule.

This year and until the beginning of January 2018, the legendary Cortylandia displays will be happening Monday through Thursday at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. On Fridays you can see the display at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m, 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. On the weekends you can see the display at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m, 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the schedule change to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. On Christmas Day and New Year’s Day there are fewer opportunities to see the display with shows at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (on New Year’s Day there is no 5:00 p.m. show).

In Madrid everything is ready for us to celebrate Christmas and enjoy the magic, don’t miss out!
