Un nuevo teatro abre sus puertas en Madrid
Theatre enthusiasts who live in or are just passing through the city of Madrid are in luck. Bankia and the Teatro Príncipe Pío reached an agreement to open El Gran Teatro Bankia Príncipe Pío, the new name which will be used by the current theatre and the future space set to be inaugurated in winter 2017 in the central corridor of the former Príncipe Pío station in Madrid.
In the words of Amalia Blanco, managing director of communications and external relations for Bankia which has promised the capital of Madrid a dose of culture mixed with entertainment, “We are very excited about this new initiative which promotes the country’s cultural activities, increases the leisure options in the Spanish capital and recovers a space which has been in disuse for more than two decades, salvaging an emblematic and historic site for the city, the Estación del Norte.”
El Gran Teatro Bankia Príncipe Pío could become a cultural hub for Madrilenians and art enthusiasts visiting one of Spain’s most culturally active cities. The new space will have a cultural center which will house a cabaret, concerts and exhibitions, in addition to a television studio which will complete the project for the main building of the former Madrid station. Bankia is committed to allowing its customers and employees to benefit from its new agreement, offering promotions and discounts to those who wish to spend a morning, afternoon or night in front of the stage taking in a show.
