Romantic getaway to Madrid for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is an important date for couples all over the world and Madrid is a perfect city for an unparalleled romantic getaway. You can start the day by enjoying the different tourist attractions of the city through the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace.
But to really capture the most romantic spots of the city we must wait until the end of the afternoon, and go to the capital’s locations where you can enjoy incredible views of the sunset.
The first of these is the Moncloa Lighthouse, which rises up to 92m to reach its viewpoint and has wonderful views of the west of the city; including the Royal Palace, the Almudena Cathedral, the Gran Vía and the Plaza de España.
Another very popular alternative is the terrace in the Circulo de Bellas Artes; a few meters from the Plaza de Cibeles: it offers another wonderful perspective of the city from the heights with exceptional views and a romantic atmosphere.
After enjoying a drink with your partner, you can opt for a romantic dinner in the city. Madrid has a varied and amazing gastronomic offer, with all kinds of food and numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, among other awards.
In fact, in 2020 Madrid has managed to add two new stars to its extensive catalogue of award-winning restaurants, with 99 Kō Sushi Bar by David Arauz and Gofio by Cicero Canary. The latter is located in the Barrio de las Letras, very close to our hotel in Puerta del Sol.
