Quinta de los Molinos

One of the best ways to say goodbye to winter in Madrid and welcome spring is to visit Quinta de los Molinos to see how the cherry almond trees bloom.

This is one of the most iconic images of the change of season and you don’t have to travel far to enjoy it. The Quinta de los Molinos is located right next to the Suanzes metro station, in the San Blas district and if you visit it at the right time, you can see the more than 6,000 cherry trees blossoming and giving an impressive snowy effect which, moreover, only happens once a year and lasts just a few days. However, this beautiful park has much more to offer in its 25 hectares of land. The site has a pre-rationalist style mansion with a large red-walled tower known as the Clock House.

Besides the famous cherry trees, you can also find numerous species such as olive trees, cedars, bananas and lilies. Among the multitude of paths that can be walked, ponds, fountains and wells stand out, as well as a grass tennis court with a small stand around it. However, it is best to leave your rackets at the hotel, as the court is exclusively decorative and cannot be played on.

Finally, the Quinta receives its name thanks to two windmills brought from the United States around 1920 to extract water for irrigation. To get to the Quinta de Los Molinos from our hotel you can take the subway, buses or any of the other mobility options available within the city. If you have any questions ask us at the reception, we will be happy to answer your questions.
