Veranos de la Villa 2017 Madrid

Through the Veranos de la Villa, the City Council of Madrid wants to bring cultural events to all areas of the city during July and August. It is an interesting and affordable way to enjoy cultural events, given that the majority are free or cost less than €12. Here we offer you a few options so that you can make the most of the summer in Spain’s capital.

One of the main attractions of the Veranos de la Villa are the concerts, where you can see top artists perform. This year, Veranos de la Villa will be placing special emphasis on links with Latin American musicians, offering various performances by different groups from the region.

Underwater electronica, concerts you can enjoy from your sleeping bag, Carmina Burana, Christina Rosenvinge and Jorge Pardo paying homage to Camarón, invite you to rediscover Madrid’s 21 districts on 60 stages. A total of 90 performances over 66 days across 60 locations throughout the city: Veranos de la Villa turns Madrid into one big festival.

In addition, the Veranos de la Villa schedule also offers participatory activities and much more than just music concerts, such as poetry recitals, circuses, ballroom dancing and sporting events for athletes who wish to make the most of the summer by competing on a team. Lastly, there are also activities for the little ones: for example there is a day dedicated to traditional children’s games (calva, pétanque, rana, jump rope, etc.) on August 29th in the auditorium at the Parque de Aluche.

Undoubtedly, today the Veranos de la Villa is a well-established summer program which offers a world of possibilities for residents, as well as tourists who want to get to know Madrid.
