Do you like tulips? Tulips are one of the flowers with the most varieties in the world and are quite possible the favorite of those who love color. Thanks to Madrid’s Real Jardín Botánico and the collaboration of the Society of Botanical Artists you can attend one of the most incredible flower shows in Madrid. The exhibit, entitled Tulipa Tulipae: El tulipán ilustrado (Tulipa Tulipae: The Tulip Explained), will unveil of the botanical secrets of this flower. You will find illustrated files and dozens of stories about the tulip.

The Real Jardín Botánico has planted more than 20,000 tulips for the occasion.

Going all out to celebrate this event, the Real Jardín Botánico has planted more than 20,000 tulip bulbs composing a mosaic of colors. In addition to discovering all of the tulip’s secrets you can also see, smell and admire the more than 40 varieties that have been brought from around the world for this exhibit. Some of these varieties are very difficult to find and require very extensive care so this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy them.

It will be open to the public until May 20th and entry costs €4. That said, you won’t only get to see tulips, the exhibit also includes workshops for all ages where you can learn techniques for growing tulips and very important information about the stages of the tulip. This exhibit is open during the Real Jardín Botánico’s opening hours and you can visit every day starting at 10 AM.

At this time of year, the botanical garden is an explosion of sensations and colors because the majority of plants are flowering. If you come to visit this exhibit, make sure to make some time to stroll through the garden and enjoy a few minutes in this natural and lush oasis in the center of Madrid.
