Estadio Wanda Metropolitano

In 2019, Madrid has once again become the football capital of the world by hosting the UEFA Champions League final, one of the most important sporting competitions in the world.

There is no doubt that the Tottenham – Liverpool match it will be a great sports event. It is also an excellent opportunity to enjoy the many attractions that Madrid has to offer.

The championship final will take place on June 1st in the famous Wanda Metropolitano, the current home of Atletico Madrid. However, every football fan will surely want to visit other stadiums of great teams such as Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid and located in the heart of Chamartín, or the Vallecas Stadium, the main home of Rayo Vallecano.

Soccer fans often take tours of these stadiums. Both the Wanda Metropolitano and Santiago Bernabéu tours have tickets available for around 20€ and you can buy them at our reception. We recommend buying them in advance and reviewing schedules, because on sports days there is usually less availability.

You’ll also want to visit the famous Cibeles and Neptune fountains. The first, located in front of the Town Hall, is where the Real Madrid fans celebrate their victories; while the Neptune fountain, just 500 metres away on Paseo del Prado, is the preferred fountain for Atletico fans to celebrate their triumphs.

Another popular attraction is the Madrid Wax Museum (Paseo de Recoletos, 41). It is home to wax statues of sporting icons such as Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Villa and Andrés Iniesta. You can also see other great sports figures such as Rafa Nadal, Marc Márquez or Mireia Belmonte, as well as celebrities, politicians, movie stars and much more.
