Madrid’s most magical places this Christmas

Christmas is a unique and wonderful time of the year. The sparkling lights, multicoloured decorations and Christmas trees in every corner make this time of year a fantasy book moment. Madrid is not far behind with the diversity of extraordinary activities for this December. From the Casa de la Navidad to the Correos, they are involved in making this Christmas unique and special.

In front of our hotel, right here at Puerta del Sol, the Royal Post Office will become a Christmas Village until December 25. Visitors will be able to tour the Santa Claus village and discover where the elves live, the tailors’ shop where the elves’ costumes are made, Santa Claus’ office, and the secrets of how he manages to get all the gifts distributed on the most beautiful night of the year. Also, children will be able to deliver their letters to the three kings, Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar.

Also in the Post Office or Casa de Correos you will be able to enjoy in its patio of The Wish Forest. This forest consists of several pine trees where visitors can hang their wishes in the form of paper balls. They can also enjoy more than 400 pieces of the Nativity scene exhibited in more than 150 square meters.

Just a few stops away from the hotel, in the Nuevos Ministerios station, Correos once again opens the Department of Extraordinary Shipments in the “La Arquería” Room in the Ministry of Development. From December 20th you will be able to enjoy this spectacular space where children will be able to see the journey of the letters they write to the Three Kings and Santa Claus. This initiative celebrates the values that have accompanied the postal company for more than 300 years. All these magical places are free of charge.
